Majesty's Treasury have had before them the Ordinance passed by the Legislature of
Hong Kong for the Incorporation of the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Company;
which was submitted in October; and I am to
request you to state to the Earl of Carnarvon that
My Lords see no objection generally
to the Confirmation of this Ordinance.
They do not however observe that
any clause has been inserted, as suggested
No. 15298/65 in their letter of 8th August last, directing that The Under Secretary of State
for the Colonies
